Laced with many rivers, and the hills of sand;
Dark green valleys cradled in the earth,
Rain and sunshine bring abundant birth.

What a beautiful song, and such an accurate description of Nebraska. One bit of trivia I saw recently says "Nebraska has more miles of river than any other state." If you've only crossed Nebraska on I-80, you've only seen one or two of those rivers.

So now it's time to see the rest of the state. From the historical areas like Chimney Rock, one of the most famous landmarks of the Oregon trail, to the bustling cities of Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska has a lot to offer and you won't want to miss any of it.

Learn all about the panhandle region by visiting the Western Nebraska tourism web site. For more information about the entire state, visit the Nebraska Tourismweb site.

So many fabulous places to see; so many wonderful events; so little time! Do you know about the annual kite flying event at Callaway? Or the rodeos at Burwell, Bridgeport, Crawford, and North Platte. Be sure to check it all out. We have lakes for fishing or water skiing, state parks for relaxing week-ends, and hundreds of days of sunshine each year to enjoy it all. I guess maybe the only thing we don't have is snow skiing. It's tough to compete with those Rockies, so we just have everything else you could want.

If you are planning a move to Nebraska, the community links have extensive information about each community - business districts, schools, parks & recreation. You can probably find listings on their sites for real estate information so you can see what is available before you arrive.

To keep you from getting bored, we also provided some random trivia below. You'll have to reload the page to see a new item, so come back and visit often. There are even some hidden links in there.

Small Disclaimer: This is not one of those automated, comprehensive directory sites that has been created purely for commercial purposes. It is a personal site created by me, a person who lives in and loves Nebraska.

The only commercialism is this little paragraph (and one little link in the top right corner to my business site.) I bear the expense of this site and let's not forget the manual labor involved. If you should have a need for web site services, please consider hiring me.

See how easy that was - I didn't even ask for a donation.

So now, on with the show. If you are looking for a community that is not listed, let me know and I'll see what I can do about listing it here.

Oh, and one last thing. The words above came from the Nebraska State Song. It was written by Jim Fras, a Russian refugee who moved to Lincoln in 1952. Among other jobs, he had a career as a professional entertainer and composer. Beautiful Nebraska became the state's official song on June 21, 1967.
